A Security Guard working at Wintrades Supermarket in La Clery was injured on the job last evening.
Two women are said to have rushed into the business establishment, grabbed several bottles of apple juice and was rushing back outside with them when he attempted to stop her. The women are believed to have seized the bottles to be used as missiles in an apparent altercation with someone else outside the Supermarket.
But as a male employee held one of the women, the other pulled out a knife and made several attempts to stab him.
The worker used the woman he was holding as a shield, preventing the woman from coming close.
However the woman is said to have then turned on the Security Guard, identified as Victor Delice of Yorke Hill, stabbing him in the chest and slashing his neck. The women are reported to have left, only to return with a gang, one member of which had a cutlass.
They are reported to have dispersed with the arrival of the police who had been summoned after the trouble started.
