Meanwhile, vendors in the city of Castries say they are seriously concerned that soon tourists will not disembark the cruise ships in docked in Port Castries due to fear of crime in the city. They say even worse, is the fear that cruise ships will pull out of St Lucia due to the number of muggings and assaults on cruise passengers. The President of the craft and Dry Goods Vendors association, Peter Ras Ipa Isaac, says authorities must do whatever it takes to safeguard the tourism industry and the livelihoods of those who depend on sector to earn a living.
