Labour Minister, Stephenson King, has agreed to meet with officials from the National Workers Union along with a delegation of former employees of Majestic Industries Limited. A few months ago some 300 former employees of Majestic Industries Ltd sent a petition to the then Prime Minister Dr. Kenny Anthony. No reply was received. The former employees, through the NWU, have taken their compensation request case to Minister King. According to the union, the Minister said he was doing some in depth study on the matter and is sympathetic to the plight of the former employees. The NWU will be holding a general meeting of the former employees at which a delegation to meet the Minister will be selected. The NWU is of the strong opinion that the large portion of land that the company has left behind should be sold and the proceeds used to pay the workers.
