The Senior Communications Officer in the Office of the Prime Minister, Nicole Mc Donald, has called it “unfortunate” that the opposition walked out of Parliament on Tuesday. Mc Donald noted that the Speaker of the House, Leonne Theodore-John, apologised profusely and she also indicated to the opposition that the matter had not been completely set aside. Instead the opposition was informed that the CIP motion would be debated at another House Sitting. Mc Donald said that Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, had indicated that he needed more time to consider the matter and prepare an appropriate response to the motion. Unfortunately, she says, the opposition missed out on some of the other significant bills that were down for discussion during Parliament.
