Reports of an explosion at the Anse La Raye Fisheries Complex were made on Sunday. According to reports the loud blast was heard at about 5am. Fire officer, Stacey Francis, says the matter is under investigation.

There is speculation that the Anse la Raye explosion is linked to the improper storage of an LPG tank, while the fire service cannot confirm at this time, the fire office had this advice on storing LPGs. She says they are safe if used correctly but if stored incorrectly can be very dangerous.

Meanwhile the fire service, responded to a total of 59 ambulance responses, including three case of physical assault, and a motor cycle accident and five fire calls.
