The CCC and the city police unit are warning that people who violate “no-vending” laws will be arrested. Two fishermen were arrested by the city police, for removing no vending signs on Jeremie Street and placing their carts there, for sale of fish. They were bailed on Friday after being charged for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest among other charges. Fishers in the city are expressing outrage. They say they need to be able to move to areas outside the fish market, to ensure sale of their fish. They say with no refrigeration services at the fish market, it is a daily hustle to ensure all fish is sold. Meanwhile, the CCC has also cracked down on the sale of alcohol without a license. City Police warn that spice rum and any other concoctions cannot be sold with a liquor license. Any violation will lead to arrest. One man was taken into police custody on Thursday for selling alcohol without a license.
