Castries Central MP, Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, gave a short statement to the media on Tuesday about the nude photo scandal, allegedly involving Finance Minister, Dr Ubaldus Raymond. Flood-Beaubrun is known to be outspoken on moral issues but on this occasion she chose to be very guarded with her comments, saying that the Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers are fully aware of her view on this matter. She ended by saying, “Let’s leave it at that.” Meanwhile Prime Minister Allen Chastanet has said that everybody has conflicting issues and the cabinet is trying to exercise the greatest amount of patience to allow the process to go through the courts. The Prime Minister Cabinet cannot be judge, jury and executioner on this matter. According to him, once the case is heard and the cabinet understands what the facts are then everybody can jump to whatever conclusion they want based on facts. At this point, he says, all they know is that “charges have been brought against a young lady, that there are pictures in circulation and there’s bunch of hearsay.”
