The inclement weather being experienced is expected to continue throughout the day, prompting action from the National Emergency Management Organization, NEMO. A Tropical Wave affecting the Island produced heavy showers overnight into the morning.
Flooding has been experienced in parts of the Island.
Acting Prime Minister, Dr Gale Rigobert, has been briefed by the Director of the NEMO, Velda Joseph, on emergency preparations for the current inclement weather. Emergency groups have been activated and are on standby.
Motorists, commuters and pedestrians are asked to exercise extreme caution given the current weather conditions.
The Acting Prime Minister has encouraged citizens to report any persons at risk who are living in vulnerable areas to the relevant community emergency group, to avert any unwarranted incidents.
