A Coolie Town family is demanding justice after their teenage relative was allegedly assaulted. Shevin Henry was found battered and bruised.
Relatives say he was taken into police custody on Friday. The teenager’s aunt says he alleges that six police officers took him to the Roseau beach, beat him up, put a gun to his mouth and hit him several times. The aunt says the teenager indicated that police told him they are going to shoot him. They wanted to know who was responsible for a fatal shooting in the community. According to her, her nephew said he told the police officers he did not know what they were talking about but they tried to force him to confess to a crime he did not commit. The family has now gotten a lawyer and made a police report. Police are in the midst of investigating a recent Marigot homicide.
