A number of LUCELEC’s line staff called in sick on Thursday. The CSA had provided written notice of strike action last month due to outstanding matters. The CSA represents LUCELEC’s Grade 1 employees or line staff, which accounts for 136 of the Company’s staff. LUCELEC and the CSA have been engaged in discussions on some matters as well as negotiations on a new collective agreement. Lucelec, CSA, the Labor Commissioner, and Labor Minister Stephenson King were scheduled to meet on Tuesday but the Minister had to reschedule due to Parliament sitting. The sit down is scheduled for today, Friday.
