Local Entrepreneurs received a major boost this week as the Caribbean Climate Innovation Centre of Jamaica, in collaboration with the Saint Lucia Coalition of Service Industries, conducted an Idea Generation Session and Boot Camp, as part of its ongoing project, which develops entrepreneurship in climate-related fields.
Local startup businesses and entrepreneurs involved in clean technology solutions – renewable energy, water/waste water, sustainable Agriculture, and energy and resource use efficiency (from pre-seed to early start-ups) had the opportunity to further develop their business concept.
The three-day event brought together Experts to drive discussions on the challenges of Climate Change so that participants can generate business ideas, as solutions to the impact of climate change. Business persons with expertise in Marketing, Finance, Legal and Business Management provided mentorship to participants with an aim to improve their business concepts.
The programme culminates with a panel of judges who will identify the top three startup businesses, which will be rewarded up to US$1000.
