Work has begun to prepare local karatekas for the next Olympic Games in Japan. The sport of Karate is one of five sports added to the list of new entries approved by the International Olympic Committee as part of the 2020 Olympic Games. A new Executive Committee was installed over the weekend to prepare the local martial artists for the 2020 event. The Federation has a packed calendar of activities planned in preparation for the 2020 Games. In addition to intense training programmes it will be hosting a variety of public sensitization activities including a martial arts festival, the launch of a newsletter and a panel discussion. The new executive overseeing these activities and preparations include Oliver Lawrence (President); Ezra Jn Baptiste (Vice President); Karim Sifflet (Secretary); George Radjou (Treasurer); Trevor Bristol (Assistant Treasurer) and Kendal Burton (PRO).
