The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Eastern Caribbean Collective Organization for Music Rights (ECCO), Steve Etienne, has been sent on 30 days leave by the board of directors of the organization. The decision was reportedly taken at a board meeting Tuesday. Sources tell us that Etienne, who was present at that gathering, was asked to leave the ECCO premises where the the meeting was being held. The board of directors is understood to be in the process of undertaking a detailed review of ECCO’s operations and as a result requested that Etienne take immediate leave. A new Chairman, Martin James, is expected to serve until ECCO’s next annual general meeting. The date for the meeting is yet to be announced.
