St Lucia will welcome medical volunteers from Taiwan, to the island today. The medical volunteers will be serving at St Jude Hospital for the next three weeks. In 2009, St Jude signed a sister agreement with a Taiwanese Christian Hospital and since that time there has been much cooperation between the two institutions, with St Lucia benefitting from technical assistance from Taiwan. A formal welcoming ceremony will be held at St Jude Hospital later today, where Health Minister Mary Isaac, and St Judes’ CEO, will address the Taiwanese volunteers.
