What are you protesting about? That is what Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, says he is trying to figure out about the SLP’s announcement of a planned protest. In a press briefing on Monday, the Prime Minister stated that he is ‘absolutely confused’ about the planned protests over the DSH project. The opposition SLP has called for the agreement to be renegotiated, stating that it is against the deal in its present form. Prime Minister Chastanet wants to know what part of the deal the opposition wants renegotiated. The Prime Minister states that the lease side of the project has been restricted to the horse racing track and says that all the other land that is being discussed would be sold at between $US 60,000 and $US 90,000 an acre. The Prime Minister says while the opposition wants to have a say so and be a part of the process, they never extended the same courtesy while they were negotiating with DSH and the UWP was in opposition.
