Nearly three years after Caleb Antoine of Cedar Heights, Vieux Fort, fatally struck Omotayo Morrison with a car he was driving, he has been sentenced on the count of Causing Death by Dangerous Driving to a fine of $10,000 EC to be paid within 6 months and in default to serve a 1 year sentence. The fine is to be paid to the Treasury and none of the proceeds go to the victim’s family. The mother of the victim spoke of how difficult it is to spend another Christmas without her son. She says her wish is that people work towards safer driving to prevent such fatal incidents. She also hopes that some of the money to be paid by Caleb Antoine will go to neurosurgical unit in memory of her son.
