A mother has alleged that her son, who has a non contagious skin disease, is being teased and discriminated against by students and staff at the Mon Repos Combined School. She told media that because of the bad treatment that her son is receiving, he has not been attending school.
The Chief Education Officer, Marcus Edward, says while he will not get into a media back and forth with the parent, her allegations are false.
The school’s Principal has also denied the allegations and says the parent in question has been disrespectful to staff by crossing off their comments in her son’s report book. The Principal says the child has been mostly absent for the first term of school.
