The Msgr. Patrick Anthony Folk Research Centre in association with Events St. Lucia Inc and the Cultural Development Foundation will present SwawéPaba, on Wednesday 25th October at 7.30 pm at the National Cultural Centre. The programme of Kwéyòl poetry, story-telling, and music is an annual event, usually held at the Pyramid, Pointe Seraphine, with the collaboration of the Alliance Francaise. This year the event moves to the Cultural Centre. It forms part of the FRC’s programmes for Creole Heritage Month re-named Arts and Heritage Month. The SwawéPaba is a tribute to Msgr. Dr. Patrick Anthony, founder of the FRC, who turned 70 this year. Included in the programme will be La Wòz and La Magrit groups, the Cecilian Rays of Anse LaRaye, Manmay Lakay, poets George “Fish’ Alphonse
and George Goddard, and story-tellers Julian ‘Charlie’ Augustin and Hilary LaForce.
