On Friday June 2, the eight contestants vying for the National Carnival Queen crown visited three schools to interact with the students.
The contestants agreed that the overwhelming response by the students of the Saint Joseph’s Convent, the Corinth Secondary School and the Ave Maria Primary School was indeed a heart-warming experience. The National Carnival Queen Pageant is being touted as a developmental program aimed at exposing young women to Saint Lucian culture, teaching them to function effectively in society, and to be socially responsible. The National Carnival Queen Pageant will be held on Saturday July 1, at the National Cultural Centre from 8 p.m.
