The phone bill of Health Minister, Mary Isaac, was a hot topic on a local talk show last week Thursday. The talk show host disclosed that the Minister had racked up a phone bill of a little over ten thousand dollars. Now the Senator is seeking to clear the air. She says she travelled to a parliamentarians’ conference in Middle East and was under the impression, from her Mobile Service Provider, that she had free data. She says this was in fact not the case and roaming charges were being applied. She told the press that when she returned to St Lucia and was informed by the Ministry about the costly bill, she instructed them not to pay it. She says the bill has now been adjusted by the service provider following a meeting. Further the Minister claims the former administration has had even more exorbitant phone bills in the past but, hers was made an issue.
