The CCC issued a statement on Monday noting its “deep concern” about comments made by the General Secretary of the CSA, Mac Stephen Aubertin. The CCC says while the CSA general secretary alleged that the Constituency Council had recently terminated one of its shop stewards on frivolous grounds, the accusations are untrue. Aubertin who was outraged by the dismissal claimed it was politically motivated. According to the CCC, the employee was terminated for failing to comply with management’s instructions as well as for displaying acts of gross insubordination towards the Mayor. The CCC noted in its press statement, that it continues to abide by the island’s labour laws on disciplinary matters involving its employees, adding that the organization remains strongly committed to building a harmonious relationship with the CSA.
