The St Lucia Association of Social Workers will host a lecture as part of activities to commemorate Social Work Month. The theme for this year’s commemoration is “Promoting Community and Environmental Sustainability”. This theme reflects a need to respond to the adverse effects of natural resource depletion, climate change and environmental degradation. The capacity of our communities to adapt and effectively respond to such environmental realities must be increased using evidence-based policies and programmes. President of the St Lucia association of social Workers, Kendall Elva, is extending a special invitation to the public to join the lecture planned for Tuesday.
