Community Pediatrician, Dr Jacqueline Bird, is cautioning parents not to rush out to pharmacies in search of a medication called Gravol, to deal with their children’s cases of vomiting and diarrhea. The condition known as gastroenteritis is currently on the increase, affecting children in particular. Dr Bird says while the medication is well known, it is not advisable that it be used outside of hospital supervision due to the side effects.
She says juices are not recommended while children are suffering with gastroenteritis as juices can make matters worse.
