The President of the Fire Service Association, Shane Felix, says members of the Fire Service are overworked and overstretched due to a serious lack of resources within the fire service. Felix says the Fire Service headquarters has equipment that requires at least nineteen people to man them. According to Felix there are only eight fire officers to do cover the work load. He said the situation forces persons to do double or triple duties, resulting in a very stressful environment. He declares that staff morale is very low and people are frustrated. He describes the situation as a very unhealthy environment.
