Prime Minister, Allen Chastanet, was on the verge of tears inside the House of Assembly on Tuesday, as he spoke about the current spate of rape and sexual assaults. He spoke about the need to protect children and women from such crimes, adding that women and children are not objects to be abused. Prime Minister Chastanet told parliament that his government has a plan that includes working closely with police and strengthening the other arms of the Justice system. He says they will be given the tools and resources they need. He promised that the reopening of the forensic lab at the soonest possible time. The Prime Minister sought to assure the public that the government will do all in its power to put a stop to the spate of sexual crimes on island.
