Another organization has come out to condemn the alleged rape of a 12 year old girl who is now pregnant. Earlier this week, Raise your Voice St Lucia called on female parliamentarians to provide answers to how government intends to deal with addressing issues like rape. Now Speak Out St Lucia (SOS), is adding its voice to calls for action. S.O.S. says the country can no longer be timid in dealing with these acts of rape and sexual abuse perpetrated on the women and children in Saint Lucia. The organization says although ordinary citizens continue to be vocal and outraged about these horrific crimes, there continues to be an almost deafening silence from elected representatives. Speak Out St. Lucia continues to call for a national strategy in combating rape and sexual abuse and is urging all Saint Lucians to call their elected Member of Parliament and demand decisive action on these matters now.
