A true community man has passed away in the person of Rudy John of Laborie. The Laborie native was involved in all facets of community life and community development as long serving educator, a cultural and community activist, a sports enthusiast and a founder of the credit union. General Manager of the Laborie Credit Union, Luscious Ellevic, says Rudy John, or RJ as he was affectionately known, made a stellar contribution to his community and honored his community by providing remarkable service to its people.

Rudy John was immortalized in his home village long before his passing, the Rudy John beach park in Laborie stands as testament to his legacy. Ellevic says there were no boundaries to how Mr John was willing to serve his community.

Laborie MP Alva Baptiste has also touted the contribution of Rudy John. He says he will be missed by generations of Laborians .

Rudy John had been recently hospitalized and on Thursday 20th October he passed away. He is expected to receive a send off fit for king in his home village, where he was greatly revered.
