Education Minister, Dr Gale Rigobert, says her Ministry is working closely with the Royal St Lucia Police Force to address the growing occurrence of robberies at schools. Her comments come on the heels of a recent break in and robbery at the Castries Comprehensive Secondary School. The school has been hit by bandits at least five times. Many other schools have also been robbed in recent times. It is for this reason that the Education Minister is in discussions with the Royal St Lucia Police Force on how to better safeguard schools. Measures are to be implemented to stop or minimize the robberies. Already the Minister reports that there is increased police surveillance in school zones prone to robberies.
