St.Lucia has lost a young promising sport talent.

Joanne Wilfred, a young netballer who represented St. Lucia in various local and regional tournaments, has died.

The cause of her death is so far unknown however reports are that she had been complaining of chest pains for some time now.

Joanna Wilfred, who was just 15, represented St. Lucia’s U-16 Netball team as a goal attack, center or wing attack.

Counselors have been mobilized to help students of the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary school deal with the trauma of her sudden death.

She had been involved in a netball training session when she complained of feeling unwell.

According to reports,  the Canaries resident was later rushed to the Soufriere hospital where she died.

Staff and students of the Soufriere Comprehensive Secondary school are in shock over the sudden death.
