The Castries East Constituency Group of the Saint Lucia Labour Party recently held its 8th annual Honouring Ceremony and Math Competition at the Entrepot Human Resource Development Center under the theme: “Education is not for life….Education is life”
Of the nine participants chosen by Principals of the respective Primary Schools in the Castries East Constituency, Kurtan Antony, of the Ti Rocher Combined School, emerged victorious. Kareem Mitchel who represented the Bocage Combined School and Kurtland Richards representing the Ti Rocher Combined School came second and third place respectively.
Philip J Pierre, Parliamentary Representative for Castries East congratulated and advised the participants that education has no colour and they must ensure that they make use of every opportunity to improve themselves.
At the ceremony, the best performing student, Kurlan Anthony was recognised and awarded a tablet for his outstanding achievement. He is attending the St.Mary’s College.
The winner of the quiz received a tablet and participants received school supplies with the second and third receiving monetary prizes.
