The Director General of the OECS, Dr. Didacus Jules has welcomed the appointment of Cosmos Richardson as Saint Lucia’s newly appointed Ambassador to the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States and CARICOM.
Dr. Jules said Ambassador Richardson was a distinguished public servant whose appointment would be a great asset to the OECS given his extraordinary depth of knowledge, experience and commitment to Caribbean integration and Diaspora Affairs.
Ambassador Richardson’s wealth of public sector experience in areas such as trade, foreign affairs, and cabinet governance represents a strengthening of the Commission as they seek to advance and accelerate the implementation of the Revised Treaty of Basseterre and to realize a better standard of living for all citizens.
Dr Jules says the state of regional economies require a renewed call for action and innovative solutions and to this end Ambassador Richardson will also be providing valued guidance on how the Caribbean diaspora can play an increasing role in both skills and resources transfer to the region for enhanced economic growth.
